A Simple Lesson
One day my philosophy professor revealed that for four years in graduate school he had read a book a day, including weekends. Subtract two weeks per year for vacation, and at roughly 200 pages per book, that’s 280,000 pages, and at 80,000 words per book, that’s 112,000,000 words. At 200 wpm he would have approached 10,000 hours of reading.
His advice? “Don’t do that.”
